About Me

Hi, I’m Ben Richardson, and I spend way too much of my free time thinking about markets, money, and what’s actually worth investing in.

Some people unwind with Netflix, I unwind with stock charts. I’ve always liked numbers. I enjoy figuring out how things work. Especially when those things are portfolios, risk strategies, or the weird psychology behind why we all panic when the market dips 2%.

Over the years, I found myself constantly translating all the complicated finance jargon into plain English — mostly for friends and family who just wanted to know what to do with their savings without getting a headache. Eventually, I figured: why not do that for more people?

What This Blog Is All About

This blog is for people who want to invest smartly without feeling like they need to get an MBA first. It’s not about flashy trends, get-rich-quick hacks, or “just buy this one stock” tips. It’s about learning how to actually understand your money, make thoughtful decisions, and build something sustainable – whether you’re brand new to investing or just trying to make your portfolio make more sense.

I cover all the stuff I personally geek out about: long-term investing strategies, how to think clearly in noisy markets, and the practical side of growing your wealth without losing your sanity.

What I Actually Know

I’m not a hedge fund manager. I don’t yell at you from a CNBC screen. But I’ve spent years digging into this stuff, reading way too many annual reports, testing different strategies, and getting a real-world education by managing my own investments (wins, losses, and all). I care a lot more about being useful than being flashy.

I try to break things down simply, without dumbing them down. There’s enough noise out there — I’m just here to give you the signal.

When I’m Not Doing This

I’ve got a regular life, too. I cook a lot. I overanalyze baseball stats. I drink too much coffee and then get mad that I drank too much coffee. I try to stay active, fail at meditating regularly, and have a soft spot for Sunday afternoons where nothing really happens.

At the end of the day, I believe investing is about more than just money. It’s about freedom, time, options — whatever matters most to you. If I can help make that path a little clearer, that’s a win in my book.

Thanks for reading. Poke around the site, grab a post or two, and reach out if there’s something you want to learn more about. I’m always down to talk shop — or just chat about which company quietly crushed earnings this quarter.
